THE WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA AREA 91ST
CORY REUNION
The Western Pennsylvania Area Cory Reunion held the 91st. Annual Cory
Reunion on August 13, 2000 at the East Palestine City Park. There were 58 present to enjoy fellowship, good food, and family
history.

President Chuck Cory of Spotsylvania,VA called the assembly together with the ringing of Elnathan Cory?s Revolutionary
era Bell.

Officers were elected for the year 2001. Tom Vickroy of Lisbon, OH was elected President, Mark Hester of Renton, WA was
elected V. President, and Leslie Vickroy of Lisbon was elected Secretary/Treasurer. Linda Coursin of Homeworth was appointed
head of the Table Committee, and Marge Chilson of East Palestine, OH, Historian. Marge Chilson will continue to publish
the family newsletter.

The President thanked Ruth Sanders of Darlington,PA and Mae Vickroy of Salem,OH for their many years of service on the
table committee in past years. He also thanked Linda Coursin, retiring Sec/Treasure for her years of service to the organization.
The Historian reported on the latest research being done on John Cory line 1778-1845, being that of James, and Jane Cory
Crooks of Mahoning, and Trumbull Co., OH. Most of those present were descendants of Elnathan Cory?s children, John, Elnathan,
Jr., and Matilda Cory.

There are 85 Newsletters being sent out to the descendants of Elnathan Cory 1759-1838 nationwide. Extra newsletters are
also sent to local Libraries, and the Cory Society in England.
There were members present from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Virginia.
Tables 23,24,25, & 26 have been reserved for next years Reunion which will be held Sunday, August 12, 2001.
