Dan was a shoemaker. They homesteaded in Badger Mn. Daniel and Sarah sold their house in Badger in 1919 and moved to Oregon

Tualatin Oregon cemetery could be in Hillsboro 453423 NI 225938 N.or Lake Oswego in Clackamas county.His granddaughter Leona Yancey gives Daniel's birth date as July 7 1851.

The 1920 Oregon census (vol 3) Ed 55, sheet 14 line 63 showed Daniel's age as 66 with the birthplace as New York. and his wife's age (Sarah) as age 66 birthplace Iowa.

Daniel died from a ruptured appendix.

Daniel Goodwin and Sarah Miranda Caskey were married on 24 Feb 1872 in Independence, Buchanan Co, IA. Sarah Miranda Caskey⁸² was born on 22 Jan 1853 in Quasqueton, Buchanan county, Iowa. She died on 1 Apr 1921 in Tualatin, Clackamas county, Oregon. She was buried on 3 Apr 1921 in Tualatin, Clackamas county, Oregon.
Miranda always had pansies which she dearly loved. They bought their house in 1926 for $1200 in Badger. The house no longer stands. They moved to Oregon in 1919. She missed her friends back in Badger very much.

Ross reported that one of her neighbors were the Caseys. Apparently the Caseys went for a buggy ride, got into an arguement with the result that Mr. Casey got off the wagon and walked home. Miranda was staying the nite. When Mr. Casey got home he announced that he was going to hang himself in the barn. To help him Mrs. Casey went to their closet and handed him a shotgun telling him to make sure he did a good job. When Miranda woke up the next morning, all was quiet. She went out to the barn and eventually found them both sleeping in the hay loft.
