8. Roger Cory¹ was born about 1665 in Tiverton, Newport Co, RI. He died on 6 Jan 1753 in Tiverton, Newport Co, RI. BIOGRAPHY
Will made January 6, 1753. Will-- Proved 3 June 1754 Exx Remembrance
and son Thomas. To eldest son William, of Tiverton 5 shillings and
all my lands in Tiverton for life, and then to my daughters Patience,
Deliverance, Sarah, Rosanna, and Content, the last having a double
share, and to live with son William for life. To second son Caleb, of
Tiverton, 5 shillings and a like amount to third son Roger and fourth
son Thomas, of Tiverton and fifth son Samuel, of Richmond. To wife
Remembrance, all moveable estate... Inventory, 302 pounds, 19
shillings viz: wearing apparel 26 pounds 15 shillings, pewter, feather
bed, 2 old wheels, warming pan, cow, calf, etc., bonds 59 pounds, 6
shillings, 6 pence.

Roger Cory had the following children:

56	iii.	Roger Cory1 was born about 1701 in Tiverton, Newport Co, RI. He died about 1795.

58	v.	Deliverence Cory1 was born in Oct 1707 in Tiverton, Newport Co, RI. She died.
+59	vi.	Thomas Cory.

Roger Cory and Rememberance Potter were married on 1 May 1718. Rememberance Potter^1,3 was born in Feb 1690 in RI. She died about 1760 in RI. Roger married Rememberance Potter on May 1, 1718. Her birthday is given as Feb 1666. That would make her 52 years old at time of marriage. The fist child from this marriage is Samuel, b. 1720 (Rememberance is now about 54). The last of the 5 children from this marriage is Content, b. 1729. Rememberance is now 63.

Something doesn't seem to fit with the dates given. It would seem highly likely that Rememberance would be beyond child bearing age at the time of the stated marriage date of 1718.

I have checked the WorldConnect Web site and found one entry that indicates Rememberance was first married to John Dye. A birthdate for her was given as 1690. However, no source was given for that date of birth.

It would appear that more research is needed regarding the actual vital statistics of Rememberance.

In the meantime I believe that I will use an estimated date of birth for Rememberance of about 1690 as this fits with her first child with Jon Dye around 1709 and allows her having children with Roger Cory through 1729 within child bearing age.
