12. William Cory¹ was born about 1683 in Portsmouth, Newport Co, RI. He died in Aug 1719 in East Greenwich, Kent Co, RI. He was buried in Aug 1719 in Family Farm, Quonset Point, RI. BIOGRAPHY
The will was signed by mark, 23 July 1719. Proved 29 August 1719,
(East Greenwich TC & Probate, 1:15A-17). His wife Elizabeth is
mentioned, along with his children: William, Mary, John, Anthony,
Sarah, and one other daughter not named.

There is massive confusion as to William's birthdate. His parents wer e married in 1679. His birthdate is sometimes listed 1679 and sometim es listed as 1683. He is acknowledged as being the second of ten chil dren, but his older brother's birthdate is listed as 1687. This is fu rther complicated by the listing of the third sibling, Elisha, as hav ing been born in 1686 (which would be before the oldest brother, John , was born) or 1688, which is more logical except for William's birth date.

William Cory and Elizabeth Drake were married on 20 Jan 1702/3.⁴ Elizabeth Drake¹ was born in Nov 1685. She died about 1720 in East Greenwich, Kent Co, RI. William Cory and Elizabeth Drake had the following children:
