31. William Cory¹ was born in Feb 1693 in Tiverton, Newport Co, RI. He died on 13 Apr 1779 in Cumberland, Providence Co, RI. The marrages and children attached to William are not in the proper order as can be seen from birth and marrage dates. Additional work needs to be done to clarify this. There is also a record of marriage intentions between a William and Hannah Allen dated 10 Feb 1722/23.

He was spoken of as "William of Newport", so it is probable that he had lived there previous to his marriage. It is also thought that they may have lived for a short time in Tiverton and then removed to Newport, Rhode Island where he was living as late as 1774.

William Cory and Hannah Lake were married on 10 Feb 1716/17. Hannah Lake¹ was born about 1698. She died on 1 Nov 1732. William Cory and Hannah Lake had the following children:

William Cory and Mary Allen were married on 22 Feb 1732/33 in Tiverton, Newport Co, RI. Mary Allen¹ was born about 1702 in Tiverton, Newport Co, RI. She died on 17 May 1734. William Cory and Mary Allen had the following children:

+153	ii.	Ruth Cory.

William Cory and Mary Akin were married in Nov 1736. Mary Akin¹ (daughter of James Akin and Eliphel Sanford) was born in Sep 1700. She died after 1771. William Cory and Mary Akin had the following children:

+154	i.	Comfort Cory.
+155	ii.	Rebecca Cory.
156	iii.	William Cory1 was born about 1749 in Tiverton, Newport Co, RI. He died on 2 Feb 1750.
